ReplyDeleteI agree that educators and even parents need to be careful not to force learning on children. I also agree that reading is a great preperation for childrne. I began reading to my son every night when he was just a baby and now he is 3 and asks me to read a book to him every five minutes. I love reading and I am so glad that he does too. I enjoy our time we spend together cuddling up to a good book. Sometimes he will tell me his version of the book, sometimes I will read to him and sometimes he will look at a book quietly while I read one of my own books.
