"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see."These quotes remind me that I have to be a good role model for children. I have to give them something great to imitate. I also have to make them feel safe and secure and assure them that they matter. There is a child in my classroom whose brother picked him up from school one day and kept telling him that he is bad...he is not a bad child, he just makes poor choices. I hope that in my classroom he knows that I believe he can do better and that he is a good kid! The last quote reminds me that the lives I touch today will go into the future. I need to make sure I am doing my best and giving them skills to use in their futures.

ReplyDeleteI really liked your quote, "Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate." This is so true and something I remind myself of daily. Sometimes people dont realize what children pick up on and how much of an impact we can have on a child. It sounds like you are a great role model and definitely helping shape the future!

ReplyDeleteI love the quotes you posted, particularly the 1st quote "Children are great imitators, so give them something great to imitate". I believe parents, caretakers, and adults in direct contact with children should make every effort to exhibit respect for others, kindness, and appropriate behavior for the children they may have in their company. Children said to be "human sponges" soaking up everything they hear and see. If we want our children to develop into respect adults, we as adults need to be the respectful ourselves and provide good examples for our children.
